WQA Leadership Awards

The Water Quality Association annually recognizes individuals and companies who have excelled in their commitment or service to the water quality improvement industry.

Any WQA member is eligible for the individual awards: Hall of Fame AwardLifetime Membership AwardKey AwardRay Cross AwardRegents AwardAward of MeritInternational Award of MeritNext Gen Award, or Honorary Membership Award

Nominations are evaluated against each individual award criteria, and winners are chosen by the Board of Governors and announced at the following year's WQA Convention & Exposition.

The new WQA Excellence Award was established in 2017 to honor member companies that demonstrate excellence in customer service, business operations, community service, and innovation. It can be presented in two categories:  Manufacturer/Supplier and Dealer. Companies apply for this honor rather than being nominated; at minimum, the applicant must have been a WQA member for at least three years, sell or manufacture certified products and have at least one certified professional on staff.

Please note that not all awards are necessarily given each year.

2020 Excellence Awards

Dealer Category - Best Water Solutions, Gainesville, FL

BWS_Logo_12-3Best Water Solutions donated, installed and now maintains reverse osmosis drinking water solutions for all kitchens at the local Ronald McDonald House, providing higher quality water to children and families in need and reducing plastic bottle waste by more than 1,000 cases a year. The dealership also donates a water treatment system for each Habitat for Humanity Home built by its local college’s construction and technical programs and sends an experienced technician to work with the plumbing students on the installation. The project provides a family in need with better quality water while at the same time helps train future service technicians in this growing industry.

Manufacturer/Supplier/Retailer category - May Supply Co., Harisonburg, VA

may supplyMay Supply Company started a community outreach program called Water for Hope to help families of young children undergoing cancer treatment. Its first project was to install a whole-house filtration system so that a child could recuperate at home with his family. For a second family, Water for Hope coordinated a communitywide effort that included home renovations in addition to a complete water well and water treatment system. Children with compromised immune systems cannot go home with unsafe (or unknown) drinking water conditions, so these projects allowed these families to be together during crucial periods in their children's lives.
